Microsoft adding AI cowriter to Notepad with Windows 11 24H2 update. This helps to rewrite texts, paragraphs, Summarize documents and many more. All these tasks can be done in notepad. You can also use Explain with Copilot for better understanding any document, notes or article.

AI cowriter in notepad uses AI to summarize documents,text,paragraphs. There is an option called explain with copilot. This feature helps a lot. You don’t need to use other AI tools; the job gets done right in the Notepad. Right click on Notepad to use these features.
This feature is rolling out with Windows 11 24H2 update. We may expect the update in October 2024. Currently this feature is spotted in a recent Windows 11 insider build.
Windows 11 24H2 requires POPCNT Supported Motherboards to run.
However Laptops released after 2010 have this support.
How to Enable AI Cowriter on Notepad
- Open Notepad
- Right click
- There you can see AI Cowriter options
