Hey everyone, I was using a Google 30W adapter to charge my Pixel 7a but it looks weird because there is not much difference between 18W and 30W in charging the Pixel 7a, only a few minutes difference.Let me explain in a very clear way below.
There is no sense in Buying 30W adapter to Charge Pixel 7a
I use Pixel 4XL,Pixel 4a,Pixel 6a and Pixel 7a.There aren’t chargers for Pixel 6a and 7a out of the box so i’m using Pixel 4a 18W adapter to charge both of my Pixel 6a and Pixel 7a.
My Pixel 6a charges fine with 18W,coming to 7a. It sometimes takes hours to charge. So I bought Google’s 30W charging adapter expecting a faster charging but there is no big difference.
With 18W Pixel 7a took 2 hrs to full charge whereas with 30W it took 1hr 50min there is only 10 mins of difference.
Moreover, Pixel 6a and 7a only support a maximum of 18W wired charging.
I read some articles and forums where some people stated that you’ll get 18W charging speeds only with Google 30W adapter but it is completely false. You can use your older Pixel 18W chargers or any PD charger that provides 18W output.
I hope Google will provide an update to Pixel 7a to fix the weird charging issues.
