Android 15 beta 2 rolled out. Many new features rolled out. One of the key privacy feature is Private Space
It allows us to
Keep private apps in a separate space that you can hide or lock
How to Setup Private Space on Android
To setup private space all you need to do is
- 1.Open Settings
- 2.Under Security and Privacy
- 3.Open Private Space
- 4.Enter device pin or unlock with biometric
- 5.Now Setup by following instructions on screen.
You can setup screen lock to the private space or setup a dedicated lock for it
Private space locates at bottom of All android apps. There is a section highlighted as Private Space.
You can hide it completely from there by enabling hide it when locked in Settings.
Private Space is allows you to install the apps via google play store. This space occupies separate storage which you can access through files app.
Make sure to use new google account for Private space using the same account for both android and private space will show the activity together so better to sign in with new or alternate Gmail account
Apps in your private space won’t appear in permission manager, privacy dashboard, and other settings when your private space is locked. Your private space can’t be moved to a new device. You’ll need to set up another private space if you want to use it on another device.
Anyone that connects your device to a computer or installs harmful apps on your device may be able to access your private space.
