Here is a quick overview of Now Playing,Google Recorder and Quick Phrases.
1.Now Playing
Now playing is a Google Pixel feature that identifies songs playing nearby and displays them on your lock screen.The song name and artist name will be displayed.You can add them to favourites
There is also a Now Playing history where it has all the song names your pixel identified.I really impressed by this history feature where it has more than 3 years of data.
One more interesting fact is Now playing is completely offline which runs on devices.
You can also search the songs directly from lock screen through Now Playing search button(you should enable it in settings under Now Playing).Once you click on search it identifies the song and display the name(this one feature require internet)
2.Google Recorder
Google recorder is Voice recorder and transcription app made by Google.This app is pixel exclusive.One thing i love about Pixel recorder is its audio quality and the way it transcripts our voice instantly.
You can share the transcript directly and also create a video clip with both audio and transcript.There is a google account backup option where you can access the recordings at Recorder.google.com
3.Quick Phrases
Quick phrases is a Google assistant feature available on Pixel 6 and later.This is hands-free feature which allows you to control some actions through voice.It has these options-
Alarms and Timers-
Allows you to control the alarm with Stop,Snooze.You should just say “Stop” to Stop an Alarm and “Snooze” to snooze it.This all works without saying Hey google command.
Incoming Calls-
Here it allows you to control the incoming calls with 3 phrases i.e
- “Answer” to lift the call
- “Silence” to Silence the call
- “Decline” to End the call
These quick phrases work with Pixel Buds Pro too.
Here Google assistant will be in standby mode to detect these voice commands.
