Everyone use truecaller for identifying caller’s name and spam callers. Truecaller displays the caller’s name. Some experts suggest even truecaller isn’t safe to use. It’s time to uninstall the app. The TRAI rolls out a final set of recommendations to introduce caller ID as a default feature.
We usually see the caller ID of some calls, it’s displayed if its business or Company name. From now on, a person’s Aadhaar card name will be visible.
This feature was proposed 2 years ago.
TRAi recommended companies should provide CNAP (Calling Name Presentation). This improves privacy and safety.
Displaying callers name as registered with their telecom operator.
This CNAP model will create a competitive environment for existing caller ID identification services like Truecaller. Truecaller is not only for number identification there are many more features like AI call recording, Summarizing and many more.
Displaying Persons name i.e Caller ID is okay but what about business calls. Spam call detection and verified business calls are already integrated to Google Phone app but it needs to get improved with telecom providers support.
Overall the new rule by TRAI will improve privacy and prevent spam calls.
