When we turn on Mobile data after a long gap our smartphone will constantly buzz and ring because notifications will jump soon after you enable data. There are many notifications from the same app where the notification sounds irritate a lot. A new feature spotted in Android 15 DP1 which actually lowers the notification volume when you continuously receive notifications from the same app. This feature is called Notification Cooldown. There is an option to enable this feature only for conversations.Let us explore more regarding this new feature.
What is Notification Cooldown and how does it work
Notification cooldown is basically an option to lower the volume when you get notifications from the same app. For example if you are having a conversation or group chat in Whatsapp you’ll get numerous notifications from whatsapp so Notification cooldown will gradually decrease the notification volume.
You might be scared of missing important notifications if this option is enabled don’t worry google already thought of this and gave 2 options for this either you can set it to conversations or you can enable for all notifications. We may expect more updates to this feature in future updates. As this is a Developer preview of Android 15 there are more features coming to Android 15.
